North Florida Research and Education Center (NFREC) Beef Unit, Marianna, FL (one mile west of Greenwood, FL on county route 162). Registration starts at 8 am CT and the program is from 9 am to 3 pm CT. Registration fee is $10. Lunch will be provided. For further information call 850-482-9904.

September 4, 2008 - Pecan/Chestnut Field Day
North Florida REC - Suwannee Valley, Live Oak FL.  In keeping with the Small Farm/Alternative Enterprises focus of the Center, the Pecan agenda includes topics for smaller scale pecan producers.  The program will include management of Chinese-American hybrid chestnuts and a tour of chestnut varieties planted at the Center.  Included on the program are discussions of truffle and shiitake mushroom production.  Registration begins at 8:30am and the program runs through mid-afternoon.  Lunch will be provided by industry sponsors.  For more information contact Larry Halsey at 850-342-0187 or lah@ufl.edu.
